Al-Ma'un
1
أَرَءَيْتَara-ayta
Have you seen
الَّذِيalladhī
the one who
يُكَذِّبُyukadhibu
denies
بِالدِّينِbil-dīni
the Judgment?
[Prophet], have you considered the person who denies the Judgement?
2
فَذَلِكَfadhālika
Then that
الَّذِيalladhī
(is) the one who
يَدُعُّyaduʿʿu
repulses
الْيَتِيمَl-yatīma
the orphan,
It is he who pushes aside the orphan
3
وَلَاwalā
And (does) not
يَحُضُّyaḥuḍḍu
feel the urge
عَلَىʿalā
to
طَعَامِṭaʿāmi
feed
الْمِسْكِينِl-mis'kīni
the poor.
and does not urge others to feed the needy.
4
فَوَيْلٌfawaylun
So woe
لِلْمُصَلِّينَlil'muṣallīna
to those who pray,
So woe to those who pray
5
الَّذِينَalladhīna
Those who
هُمْhum
[they]
عَنْʿan
about
صَلَاتِهِمْṣalātihim
their prayers
سَاهُونَsāhūna
(are) neglectful,
but are heedless of their prayer;
6
الَّذِينَalladhīna
Those who
هُمْhum
[they]
يُرَاءُونَyurāūna
make show.
those who are all show
7
وَيَمْنَعُونَwayamnaʿūna
And they deny
الْمَاعُونَl-māʿūna
[the] small kindnesses.
and forbid common kindnesses.
