An-Naml

1

طسtta-seen
Ta Seen.
تِلْكَtil'ka
These
ءَايَاتُāyātu
(are the) Verses
الْقُرْءَانِl-qur'āni
(of) the Quran
وَكِتَابٍwakitābin
and a Book
مُبِينٍmubīnin
clear
Ta Sin These are the verses of the Quran––a scripture that makes things clear;

هُدًىhudan
A guidance
وَبُشْرَىwabush'rā
and glad tidings
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīna
for the believers,
a guide and joyful news for the believers

الَّذِينَalladhīna
Those who
يُقِيمُونَyuqīmūna
establish
الصَّلَوةَl-ṣalata
the prayer
وَيُؤْتُونَwayu'tūna
and give
الزَّكَوةَl-zakata
zakah
وَهُمْwahum
and they
بِالْءَاخِرَةِbil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
هُمْhum
[they]
يُوقِنُونَyūqinūna
believe with certainty.
who keep up the prayer, pay the prescribed alms, and believe firmly in the life to come.

إِنَّinna
Indeed,
الَّذِينَalladhīna
those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūna
believe
بِالْءَاخِرَةِbil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter,
زَيَّنَّاzayyannā
We have made fair-seeming
لَهُمْlahum
to them
أَعْمَالَهُمْaʿmālahum
their deeds,
فَهُمْfahum
so they
يَعْمَهُونَyaʿmahūna
wander blindly.
As for those who do not believe in the life to come, We have made their deeds seem alluring to them, so they wander blindly:

أُولَئِكَulāika
Those
الَّذِينَalladhīna
(are) the ones,
لَهُمْlahum
for them
سُوءُsūu
(is) an evil
الْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābi
[the] punishment
وَهُمْwahum
and they
فِي
in
الْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhirati
the Hereafter
هُمُhumu
[they]
الْأَخْسَرُونَl-akhsarūna
(will be) the greatest losers.
it is they who will have the worst suffering, and will be the ones to lose most in the life to come.

وَإِنَّكَwa-innaka
And indeed, you
لَتُلَقَّىlatulaqqā
surely, receive
الْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna
the Quran
مِنْmin
from [near]
لَدُنْladun
from [near]
حَكِيمٍḥakīmin
the All-Wise,
عَلِيمٍʿalīmin
the All-Knower.
You [Prophet] receive the Quran from One who is all wise, all knowing.

إِذْidh
When
قَالَqāla
said
مُوسَىmūsā
Musa
لِأَهْلِهِli-ahlihi
to his family,
إِنِّيinnī
"Indeed, I
ءَانَسْتُānastu
perceive
نَارًاnāran
a fire.
سَءَاتِيكُمْsaātīkum
I will bring you
مِنْهَاmin'hā
from it
بِخَبَرٍbikhabarin
some information
أَوْaw
or
ءَاتِيكُمْātīkum
I will bring you
بِشِهَابٍbishihābin
a torch
قَبَسٍqabasin
burning
لَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakum
so that you may
تَصْطَلُونَtaṣṭalūna
warm yourselves."
Moses said to his family, ‘I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning stick for you to warm yourselves.’

فَلَمَّاfalammā
But when
جَاءَهَاjāahā
he came to it,
نُودِيَnūdiya
he was called
أَنْan
[that]
بُورِكَbūrika
"Blessed is
مَنْman
who
فِي
(is) at
النَّارِl-nāri
the fire
وَمَنْwaman
and whoever
حَوْلَهَاḥawlahā
(is) around it.
وَسُبْحَانَwasub'ḥāna
And glory be
اللَّهِl-lahi
(to) Allah
رَبِّrabbi
(the) Lord
الْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds.
When he reached the fire, a voice called: ‘Blessed is the person near this fireand those around it; may God be exalted, the Lord of the Worlds.

يَامُوسَىyāmūsā
O Musa!
إِنَّهُinnahu
Indeed,
أَنَاanā
I Am
اللَّهُl-lahu
Allah,
الْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty,
الْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise."
Moses, I am God, the Mighty, the Wise.

وَأَلْقِwa-alqi
And, "Throw
عَصَاكَʿaṣāka
your staff."
فَلَمَّاfalammā
But when
رَءَاهَاraāhā
he saw it
تَهْتَزُّtahtazzu
moving
كَأَنَّهَاka-annahā
as if it
جَانٌّjānnun
(were) a snake
وَلَّىwallā
he turned back
مُدْبِرًاmud'biran
(in) flight
وَلَمْwalam
and (did) not
يُعَقِّبْyuʿaqqib
look back.
يَامُوسَىyāmūsā
"O Musa!
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفْtakhaf
fear.
إِنِّيinnī
Indeed, [I]
لَا
(do) not
يَخَافُyakhāfu
fear
لَدَيَّladayya
(in) My presence
الْمُرْسَلُونَl-mur'salūna
the Messengers.
Throw down your staff,’ but when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. ‘Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence,
