الْحَمْدُal-ḥamdu
All praises
لِلَّهِlillahi
(be) to Allah,
فَاطِرِfāṭiri
Originator
السَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth,
جَاعِلِjāʿili
(Who) makes
الْمَلَائِكَةِl-malāikati
the Angels
رُسُلًاrusulan
messengers
أُولِيulī
having wings
أَجْنِحَةٍajniḥatin
having wings
مَثْنَىmathnā
two
وَثُلَاثَwathulātha
or three
وَرُبَاعَwarubāʿa
or four.
يَزِيدُyazīdu
He increases
فِيfī
in
الْخَلْقِl-khalqi
the creation
مَاmā
what
يَشَاءُyashāu
He wills.
إِنَّinna
Indeed,
اللَّهَl-laha
Allah
عَلَىʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّkulli
every
شَيْءٍshayin
thing
قَدِيرٌqadīrun
All-Powerful.
Praise be to God, Creator of the heavens and earth, who made angels messengers with two, three, four [pairs of] wings. He adds to creation as He will: God has power over everything.
2
مَاmā
What
يَفْتَحِyaftaḥi
Allah grants
اللَّهُl-lahu
Allah grants
لِلنَّاسِlilnnāsi
to mankind
مِنْmin
of
رَحْمَةٍraḥmatin
Mercy,
فَلَاfalā
then none
مُمْسِكَmum'sika
(can) withhold
لَهَاlahā
it.
وَمَاwamā
And what
يُمْسِكْyum'sik
He withholds,
فَلَاfalā
then none
مُرْسِلَmur'sila
(can) release
لَهُlahu
it
مِنْmin
thereafter.
بَعْدِهِbaʿdihi
thereafter.
وَهُوَwahuwa
And He
الْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty,
الْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise.
No one can withhold the blessing God opens up for people, nor can anyone but Him release whatever He withholds: He is the Almighty, the All Wise.
3
يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā
O
النَّاسُl-nāsu
mankind!
اذْكُرُواudh'kurū
Remember
نِعْمَتَniʿ'mata
(the) Favor
اللَّهِl-lahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykum
upon you.
هَلْhal
Is
مِنْmin
(there) any
خَالِقٍkhāliqin
creator
غَيْرُghayru
other (than) Allah
اللَّهِl-lahi
other (than) Allah
يَرْزُقُكُمْyarzuqukum
who provides for you
مِنَmina
from
السَّمَاءِl-samāi
the sky
وَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍi
and the earth?
لَاlā
(There is) no
إِلَهَilāha
god
إِلَّاillā
but
هُوَhuwa
He.
فَأَنَّىfa-annā
Then, how
تُؤْفَكُونَtu'fakūna
(are) you deluded?
People, remember God’s grace towards you. Is there any creator other than God to give you sustenance from the heavens and earth? There is no god but Him. How can you be so deluded?
4
وَإِنْwa-in
And if
يُكَذِّبُوكَyukadhibūka
they deny you,
فَقَدْfaqad
then certainly
كُذِّبَتْkudhibat
were denied
رُسُلٌrusulun
Messengers
مِنْmin
before you.
قَبْلِكَqablika
before you.
وَإِلَىwa-ilā
And to
اللَّهِl-lahi
Allah
تُرْجَعُtur'jaʿu
return
الْأُمُورُl-umūru
the matters.
If they call you a liar [Prophet], many messengers before you were also called liars: it is to God that all things will be returned.
5
يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhā
O
النَّاسُl-nāsu
mankind!
إِنَّinna
Indeed,
وَعْدَwaʿda
(the) promise
اللَّهِl-lahi
(of) Allah
حَقٌّḥaqqun
(is) true.
فَلَاfalā
So (let) not
تَغُرَّنَّكُمُtaghurrannakumu
deceive you
الْحَيَوةُl-ḥayatu
the life
الدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā
(of) the world,
وَلَاwalā
and (let) not
يَغُرَّنَّكُمْyaghurrannakum
deceive you
بِاللَّهِbil-lahi
about Allah
الْغَرُورُl-gharūru
the Deceiver.
People! God’s promise is true, so do not let the present life deceive you. Do not let the Deceiver deceive you about God:
6
إِنَّinna
Indeed,
الشَّيْطَانَl-shayṭāna
the Shaitaan
لَكُمْlakum
(is) to you
عَدُوٌّʿaduwwun
an enemy,
فَاتَّخِذُوهُfa-ittakhidhūhu
so take him
عَدُوًّاʿaduwwan
(as) an enemy.
إِنَّمَاinnamā
Only
يَدْعُواyadʿū
he invites
حِزْبَهُḥiz'bahu
his party
لِيَكُونُواliyakūnū
that they may be
مِنْmin
among
أَصْحَابِaṣḥābi
(the) companions
السَّعِيرِl-saʿīri
(of) the Blaze.
Satan is your enemy––so treat him as an enemy––and invites his followers only to enter the blazing fire.
7
الَّذِينَalladhīna
Those who
كَفَرُواkafarū
disbelieve,
لَهُمْlahum
for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun
(will be) a punishment
شَدِيدٌshadīdun
severe,
وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīna
and those
ءَامَنُواāmanū
who believe
وَعَمِلُواwaʿamilū
and do
الصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds,
لَهُمْlahum
for them
مَغْفِرَةٌmaghfiratun
(will be) forgiveness
وَأَجْرٌwa-ajrun
and a reward
كَبِيرٌkabīrun
great.
Those who disbelieve will be punished severely; those who believe and do good deeds will be forgiven, and richly rewarded.
8
أَفَمَنْafaman
Then is (he) who -
زُيِّنَzuyyina
is made fair-seeming
لَهُlahu
to him
سُوءُsūu
(the) evil
عَمَلِهِʿamalihi
(of) his deed -
فَرَءَاهُfaraāhu
so that he sees it
حَسَنًاḥasanan
(as) good?
فَإِنَّfa-inna
For indeed,
اللَّهَl-laha
Allah
يُضِلُّyuḍillu
lets go astray
مَنْman
whom
يَشَاءُyashāu
He wills
وَيَهْدِيwayahdī
and guides
مَنْman
whom
يَشَاءُyashāu
He wills.
فَلَاfalā
So (let) not
تَذْهَبْtadhhab
go out
نَفْسُكَnafsuka
your soul
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim
for them
حَسَرَاتٍḥasarātin
(in) regrets.
إِنَّinna
Indeed,
اللَّهَl-laha
Allah
عَلِيمٌʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
بِمَاbimā
of what
يَصْنَعُونَyaṣnaʿūna
they do.
What about those whose evil deeds are made alluring to them so that they think they are good? God leaves whoever He will to stray and guides whoever He will. [Prophet], do not waste your soul away with regret for them: God knows exactly what they do.
9
وَاللَّهُwal-lahu
And Allah
الَّذِيalladhī
(is) the One Who
أَرْسَلَarsala
sends
الرِّيَاحَl-riyāḥa
the winds
فَتُثِيرُfatuthīru
so that they raise
سَحَابًاsaḥāban
(the) clouds,
فَسُقْنَاهُfasuq'nāhu
and We drive them
إِلَىilā
to
بَلَدٍbaladin
a land
مَيِّتٍmayyitin
dead
فَأَحْيَيْنَاfa-aḥyaynā
and We revive
بِهِbihi
therewith
الْأَرْضَl-arḍa
the earth
بَعْدَbaʿda
after
مَوْتِهَاmawtihā
its death.
كَذَلِكَkadhālika
Thus
النُّشُورُl-nushūru
(will be) the Resurrection.
It is God who sends forth the winds; they raise up the clouds; We drive them to a dead land and with them revive the earth after its death: such will be the Resurrection.
10
مَنْman
Whoever
كَانَkāna
[is] desires
يُرِيدُyurīdu
[is] desires
الْعِزَّةَl-ʿizata
the honor,
فَلِلَّهِfalillahi
then for Allah
الْعِزَّةُl-ʿizatu
(is) the Honor
جَمِيعًاjamīʿan
all.
إِلَيْهِilayhi
To Him
يَصْعَدُyaṣʿadu
ascends
الْكَلِمُl-kalimu
the words
الطَّيِّبُl-ṭayibu
good,
وَالْعَمَلُwal-ʿamalu
and the deed
الصَّالِحُl-ṣāliḥu
righteous
يَرْفَعُهُyarfaʿuhu
raises it.
وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīna
But those who
يَمْكُرُونَyamkurūna
plot
السَّيِّئَاتِl-sayiāti
the evil,
لَهُمْlahum
for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
شَدِيدٌshadīdun
severe,
وَمَكْرُwamakru
and (the) plotting
أُولَئِكَulāika
(of) those -
هُوَhuwa
it
يَبُورُyabūru
(will) perish.
If anyone desires power, all power belongs to God; good words rise up to Him and He lifts up the righteous deed, but a severe torment awaits those who plot evil and their plotting will come to nothing.
