نnoon
Nun.
وَالْقَلَمِwal-qalami
By the pen
وَمَاwamā
and what
يَسْطُرُونَyasṭurūna
they write,
Nun By the pen! By all they write!
2
مَاmā
Not
أَنْتَanta
you (are),
بِنِعْمَةِbiniʿ'mati
by (the) Grace
رَبِّكَrabbika
(of) your Lord,
بِمَجْنُونٍbimajnūnin
a madman.
Your Lord’s grace does not make you [Prophet] a madman:
3
وَإِنَّwa-inna
And indeed,
لَكَlaka
for you
لَأَجْرًاla-ajran
surely (is) a reward
غَيْرَghayra
without
مَمْنُونٍmamnūnin
end.
you will have a never-ending reward––
4
وَإِنَّكَwa-innaka
And indeed, you
لَعَلَىlaʿalā
surely (are)
خُلُقٍkhuluqin
(of) a moral character
عَظِيمٍʿaẓīmin
great.
truly you have a strong character––
5
فَسَتُبْصِرُfasatub'ṣiru
So you will see
وَيُبْصِرُونَwayub'ṣirūna
and they will see,
and soon you will see, as will they,
6
بِأَيِّيكُمُbi-ayyikumu
Which of you
الْمَفْتُونُl-maftūnu
(is) the afflicted one.
which of you is afflicted with madness.
7
إِنَّinna
Indeed,
رَبَّكَrabbaka
your Lord,
هُوَhuwa
He
أَعْلَمُaʿlamu
(is) most knowing
بِمَنْbiman
of (he) who
ضَلَّḍalla
has strayed
عَنْʿan
from
سَبِيلِهِsabīlihi
His way,
وَهُوَwahuwa
and He
أَعْلَمُaʿlamu
(is) most knowing
بِالْمُهْتَدِينَbil-muh'tadīna
of the guided ones.
Your Lord knows best who strays from His path and who is rightly guided.

فَلَاfalā
So (do) not
تُطِعِtuṭiʿi
obey
الْمُكَذِّبِينَl-mukadhibīna
the deniers.
So do not yield to those who deny the truth––
9
وَدُّواwaddū
They wish
لَوْlaw
that
تُدْهِنُtud'hinu
you should compromise,
فَيُدْهِنُونَfayud'hinūna
so they would compromise.
they want you to compromise with them and then they will compromise with you––
10
وَلَاwalā
And (do) not
تُطِعْtuṭiʿ
obey
كُلَّkulla
every
حَلَّافٍḥallāfin
habitual swearer
مَهِينٍmahīnin
worthless,
do not yield to any contemptible swearer,
