أَلَمْalam
Have not
نَشْرَحْnashraḥ
We expanded
لَكَlaka
for you
صَدْرَكَṣadraka
your breast?
Did We not relieve your heart for you [Prophet],
2
وَوَضَعْنَاwawaḍaʿnā
And We removed
عَنْكَʿanka
from you
وِزْرَكَwiz'raka
your burden
and remove the burden
3
الَّذِيalladhī
Which
أَنْقَضَanqaḍa
weighed upon
ظَهْرَكَẓahraka
your back,
that weighed so heavily on your back,
4
وَرَفَعْنَاwarafaʿnā
And We raised high
لَكَlaka
for you
ذِكْرَكَdhik'raka
your reputation
and raise your reputation high?
5
فَإِنَّfa-inna
So indeed,
مَعَmaʿa
with
الْعُسْرِl-ʿus'ri
the hardship
يُسْرًاyus'ran
(is) ease.
So truly where there is hardship there is also ease;

إِنَّinna
Indeed,
مَعَmaʿa
with
الْعُسْرِl-ʿus'ri
the hardship
يُسْرًاyus'ran
(is) ease.
truly where there is hardship there is also ease.
7
فَإِذَاfa-idhā
So when
فَرَغْتَfaraghta
you have finished
فَانْصَبْfa-inṣab
then labor hard.
The moment you are freed [of one task] work on,
8
وَإِلَىwa-ilā
And to
رَبِّكَrabbika
your Lord
فَارْغَبْfa-ir'ghab
turn your attention.
and turn to your Lord for everything.
