Al-Bayyina

لَمْlam

Not

يَكُنِyakuni

were

الَّذِينَalladhīna

those who

كَفَرُواkafarū

disbelieved

مِنْmin

from

أَهْلِahli

(the) People

الْكِتَابِl-kitābi

of the Book

وَالْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīna

and the polytheists,

مُنْفَكِّينَmunfakkīna

to be abandoned

حَتَّىḥattā

until

تَأْتِيَهُمُtatiyahumu

(there) comes to them

الْبَيِّنَةُl-bayinatu

the clear evidence,

Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the idolaters were not about to change their ways until they were sent clear evidence,

رَسُولٌrasūlun

A Messenger

مِنَmina

from

اللَّهِl-lahi

Allah,

يَتْلُواyatlū

reciting

صُحُفًاṣuḥufan

pages

مُطَهَّرَةًmuṭahharatan

purified,

a messenger from God, reading out pages [blessed with] purity,

فِيهَاfīhā

Wherein

كُتُبٌkutubun

(are) writings

قَيِّمَةٌqayyimatun

correct.

containing true scriptures.

وَمَاwamā

And not

تَفَرَّقَtafarraqa

became divided

الَّذِينَalladhīna

those who

أُوتُواūtū

were given

الْكِتَابَl-kitāba

the Book,

إِلَّاillā

until

مِنْmin

from

بَعْدِbaʿdi

after

مَاmā

what

جَاءَتْهُمُjāathumu

came (to) them

الْبَيِّنَةُl-bayinatu

(of) the clear evidence.

[Yet] those who were given the Scripture became divided only after they were sent [such] clear evi-dence

وَمَاwamā

And not

أُمِرُواumirū

they were commanded

إِلَّاillā

except

لِيَعْبُدُواliyaʿbudū

to worship

اللَّهَl-laha

Allah

مُخْلِصِينَmukh'liṣīna

(being) sincere

لَهُlahu

to Him

الدِّينَl-dīna

(in) the religion,

حُنَفَاءَḥunafāa

upright,

وَيُقِيمُواwayuqīmū

and to establish

الصَّلَوةَl-ṣalata

the prayer,

وَيُؤْتُواwayu'tū

and to give

الزَّكَوةَl-zakata

the zakah

وَذَلِكَwadhālika

And that

دِينُdīnu

(is the) religion

الْقَيِّمَةِl-qayimati

the correct.

though all they are ordered to do is worship God alone, sincerely devoting their religion to Him as people of true faith, keep up the prayer, and pay the prescribed alms, for that is the true religion.

إِنَّinna

Indeed,

الَّذِينَalladhīna

those who

كَفَرُواkafarū

disbelieve

مِنْmin

from

أَهْلِahli

(the) People

الْكِتَابِl-kitābi

(of) the Book

وَالْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīna

and the polytheists

فِيfī

(will be) in

نَارِnāri

(the) Fire

جَهَنَّمَjahannama

(of) Hell

خَالِدِينَkhālidīna

abiding eternally

فِيهَاfīhā

therein.

أُولَئِكَulāika

Those -

هُمْhum

they

شَرُّsharru

(are the) worst

الْبَرِيَّةِl-bariyati

(of) the creatures.

Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the idolaters will have the Fire of Hell, there to remain. They are the worst of creation.

إِنَّinna

Indeed,

الَّذِينَalladhīna

those who

ءَامَنُواāmanū

believe

وَعَمِلُواwaʿamilū

and do

الصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥāti

righteous deeds,

أُولَئِكَulāika

those -

هُمْhum

they

خَيْرُkhayru

(are the) best

الْبَرِيَّةِl-bariyati

(of) the creatures.

Those who believe and do good deeds are the best of creation.

جَزَاؤُهُمْjazāuhum

Their reward

عِنْدَʿinda

(is) with

رَبِّهِمْrabbihim

their Lord -

جَنَّاتُjannātu

Gardens

عَدْنٍʿadnin

(of) Eternity,

تَجْرِيtajrī

flow

مِنْmin

from

تَحْتِهَاtaḥtihā

underneath them

الْأَنْهَارُl-anhāru

the rivers,

خَالِدِينَkhālidīna

will abide

فِيهَاfīhā

therein

أَبَدًاabadan

forever.

رَضِيَraḍiya

(will be) pleased

اللَّهُl-lahu

Allah

عَنْهُمْʿanhum

with them

وَرَضُواwaraḍū

and they (will be) pleased

عَنْهُʿanhu

with Him.

ذَلِكَdhālika

That

لِمَنْliman

(is) for whoever

خَشِيَkhashiya

feared

رَبَّهُrabbahu

his Lord.

Their reward with their Lord is everlasting Gardens graced with flowing streams, where they will stay forever. God is well pleased with them and they with Him. All this is for those who stand in awe of their Lord.
